After the fire of August 5, 1929 -
compartment walls still standing, railroad tracks visible
as well as some partially melted ice blocks.

The ice house fire - burned for several days beginning on August 5, 1929
and could be seen for miles,
here from the shore of Bantam Lake looking to the north.

Five of the 14 compartments of the burned ice house
appear behind the boys who are standing on the railroad tracks beside the building.
The massive fire did not melt all of the ice!
